OMG…what would you do?
Posted October 13th, 2009Think about this scenario. You are working away and you go to check your email. Nothing. You get an error message saying the server is down. It will be back up in a few minutes right? Ten minutes go by. Beads of sweat are starting to form on your forehead. Fifteen minutes. You notice you have started snacking on your fingernails. And the wait goes on for one hour! The nice folks in Sweden recently had to face this fear when, while doing some routine maintenance to the top-level domain (.se) an error brought down Sweden’s Internet. So that got me thinking, what would we do if the Internet stopped working? Running through the streets being chased by angry clients sounded plausible. What actually would being chased down the streets by a mob feel like? We found this fun video that might help explain that feeling.
