According to a report on www.marketingcharts.com (86% of Companies Plan Social Media Budget Bumps), companies are planning on bumping up their budgets for social media in 2010, it’s just that they are trying to figure out where they can find the time to do it. Sound familiar?

Over the last couple of years, the social media revolution has really changed the landscape of marketing. Large brands and companies have had an easier time since they can devote the resources needed to social media. Cell phone companies, cable companies and even some of our local power utilities such as Public Service of New Hampshire have dedicated Twitter accounts where customer service reps can be reached 24 hours a day. But how do smaller businesses handle social media strategies?
